This course is intended to provide basic knowledge for any person wishing to seek employment within the security industry as an unarmed static, mobile patrol guard or Concierge. The course includes information covering the duties of a security guard associated with patrolling and protection of premises and is a mandatory requirement for pre–licensing.
Target Audience:
Any person wishing to seek employment within the security industry as an unarmed static or mobile patrol guard.
Objectives:
At the end of this course the participant will be able to apply for a 1 year Provisional security licence. Within 12 months of receiving your licence you will be required to upgrade to a Certificate II by way of Workplace Assessments.
PRE-REQUISITES
- You must be over 18 years of age to apply for a Security Licence
You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
You must be deemed suitable by the Security Industry Registry before starting the Pre - Licence course.
You must pass a Literacy and Numeracy Test. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to speak, read and write in English to an acceptable level.

A Class 1A Security Licence is necessary for any person wishing to work within the Security Industry as an unarmed static or mobile patrol guard.
This course activity is designed for any person who wishes to undertake their Pre-Licence - Certificate I in Security Operations and wishes to follow the pathway to upgrade to the Certificate II level for the purpose of completing the mandatory requirements to be eligible for application to a Class 1A-Full Licence.

Class 1A Licence : Unarmed Guards—authorised to patrol, protect, watch or guard property while unarmed (includes control room operations).
NOTE: A Class 1E Security Licence is necessary for any person wishing to work within the Security Industry in a Graded (or Grade Level) Monitoring centre. (Not an On-Site Control Room)
