The NSW Police Security Industry Registry has announced that qualifications issued by Rodgers Training Academy (Auburn) will not be accepted by SIR for the purposes of obtaining a Licence or as evidence of having undertaken Upgrade training as per new requirements that came into effect in late 2007.
As such, it is estimated that approx 5,000 licence holders have been affected; and the Deputy Commissioner of Police has indicated that many (if not all) of the Licence holders will be required to re-train / be re-assessed in order to keep those Licences.
They will only have until the end of this calendar year (Dec 09) to have been re-assessed / re- trained by an Approved Registered Training Organisation.
5,000 Licence holders is a lot of people. December will be here before you know it, and if you haven’t complied with the extension and provide evidence of re-training / assessment your Licence will be revoked.
Intercept is happy to assist those genuine Licence holders affected by Rodgers Training qualifications no longer being deemed valid by the SIR.
There are no shortcuts or quick fixes; Licence holders need to be trained and upgraded properly. In the past, students contacting us have commented that it is too hard to do upgrades with Intercept because we require evidence; we will still require evidence that meets the requirements and we will not “tick n flick” – anybody.
